The Ultimate List of Adult-Friendly Kid Movies

It’s summer and your kids want to watch a movie during the hottest part of the day.  Let me guess, they want to watch their favorite movie.  What’s that? You’ve watched 20 times already?  Been there, done that!  Here is the ultimate list of movies that both you and your kids can enjoy!

Disney/Pixar

It goes without saying, Disney movies are a hit with most.  However, some can be kind of boring.  Snow White anyone?  Pixar movies in particular are always a hit with all ages in my home.  Here are some that are especially enjoyable for all.

Toy Story (1, 2, and 3)

Monsters, Inc.

Monsters University

The Incredibles 1&2

Coco

Moana

Wreck it Ralph

Up

Superhero

Who doesn’t love a great superhero movie?  The only thing with these movies is they are PG and up, so if you have younger ones, you’ll have to be at the ready with the remote if you don’t want them to see or hear something inappropriate or “scary.”  If you have a particularly sensitive kid, I would recommend that you look up the movie description for each before watching.

Guardians of the Galaxy (1&2)

Wonder Woman

Black Panther

*Thor Ragnarok

Spiderman Homecoming

Other movies

Some of these movies are oldies but goodies.  Just like with the superhero movies, there are a couple of parts that you might want to be ready to fast forward the dialogue.  I’ll place an asterisk next to the ones that I think you might want to be on the lookout for.

*The Goonies

Pippi Longstocking Series

Beethoven 1 and *2

The Chipmunks (Series)

 The Lego Movie

 The Princess Bride

*Overboard

 *Back to the Future (series)

 Problem Child (1&2)

Shrek (1 and 2)

 Captain Underpants

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

 Peter Rabbit

Fred (watch at your own risk, the voice is annoying but I find it hilarious) 1, 2, and 3

 *Troop Beverly Hills

 Mr. Mom

 *Ghostbusters (The new one!)

 *Indiana Jones series

Trolls

 Boss Baby

Sing

*Grease (The first one of course!)

 Book of Life

 Despicable Me (1, 2, and 3)

Jumanji

I have high hopes that you will find movies here that all in the house can enjoy together.  I had everyone in the house weigh in on these picks.  Break out the popcorn, sit back, and relax!  Snuggles are mandatory.
